CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: Honey Rock Landing

Nestled in the Dominguez Canyon Wilderness Area lies the Honey Rock Landing orchard. Cultivated by owners Colby and Leslie Barrett, the location along the Gunnison River provides the fertile soil in growing some of the sweetest fruits in the entire state of Colorado. In using regenerative growing techniques, the Barrett family places sustainability at the forefront. It’s these values that resonated with the Oblique team and we’re proud to have been able to create a visual identity that reflects these standards.

After visiting with the Barretts and seeing the orchard in person, we were in absolute awe of the landscape and wanted to channel that in Honey Rock Landing’s branding, logo design and packaging. In order to portray the natural elements of the orchard, we decided to design a beautiful hand-drawn illustration to represent their brand. A strong and unique serif typeface provides grounding and heritage. The attention to detail and natural forms  created a unique brand mark reflects the care to nature and sustainability vital to Honey Rock Landing’s values.

We took this same approach when applying the new Honey Rock Landing identity to their product packaging. Their products are diverse and Oblique designed a line of 7 package designs for their fresh fruits, granita popsicles, honey jars and even a bellini drink mix. Everything from boxes and bags to jars and pouches, the package designs are as varied and adaptive as the fruit they grow while still maintaining the Honey Rock Landing brand identity.

In order to create a consistent brand identity across all products and beyond, we created a toolkit that included brand guidelines, illustrations, patterns, fonts and specific brand assets to use for all future marketing initiatives.

If you need a visual brand identity that reflects your passion and values, we’d love to hear your story!
