True sports fans show up decked out head-to-toe in their team’s colors, but how many of them have the perfect spirit sneakers? This was a problem Jono Kupferberg had one day as he was headed to Wrigley Field to cheer on the Cubs. He heard of a local artist who hand-painted Nikes and commissioned a pair of custom, Cubs shoes for the game. That one exchange brought about a new idea and STS Footwear was born. Jono and Isaiah design fan footwear for major college sports teams. The artwork is different on the left and right shoes, making them much more exciting than just slapping a logo on a sneaker.
In order to ramp up sales, STS needed a new website before the holiday season. They came to Oblique for a fresh new look and we delivered a mobile-first website experience that puts the shoes on display. The new site allows each sneaker its moment of fame with a slider on the home page that features each shoe. We also created a page where fans can show off their kicks by posting to Instagram with #stsfootwear. Oblique also conducted a photo shoot to capture some brand lifestyle photography for the website and social media. As you can see we had a blast modeling the shoes in downtown Boulder.
Check out the website and order a pair of sneakers to rep your favorite team. If your team isn’t onboard yet, you can vote for them to be the next addition to the collection.
